Mohamed Fares

Chairman and CEO

Mohamed Fares is the Chairman and CEO of LEEDS, the key founder of the company in 2010 and its leader since its spinoff from Raya in 2014.

Fares has dedicated 16 years with Raya, assuming numerous managerial and leadership positions within the group’s lines of business, crowned with being Raya Smart Buildings’ CEO and a board member of the holding group. In his capacity as Raya Financial Lease’s first CEO, Fares was responsible for all of Raya’s real estate developments and facility management operations. Prior to that, Mohamed Fares was Raya Trade’s CEO from 2007 till 2009, leading five business units operating in distribution, retail and maintenance of consumer goods in Egypt and Africa.

Before joining Raya, Fares held several technical, sales and managerial positions at SITA and NCR and played a significant role in the development of the communications industry in Egypt in the 90s.

Fares holds two management diplomas from Harvard Business School and the American University in Cairo, and has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Ain Shams University.

Ahmed Shalash

Chief Operations Officer

Ahmed Shalash is LEEDS Contracting Chief Operations Officer. Until mid 2014, Shalash was Raya Smart Buildings’ Projects Director, responsible for all contracting operations of Raya buildings’ developments, as well as providing project management services for other companies.

Until 2009, Shalash was a partner in United Group specialized in Construction; Electromechanical works, and in waste-water and Desalination plants management and maintenance, while acting as project management consultant to the Ministry of Petroleum for special projects such as Petro Sport Club and SKY Resorts in Kattameya. Prior to that, Shalash held several key positions in reputable organizations such as HKS Group, EMG, EGC, Joly-Ville Romania, gas companies in Jordan and Turkey and Midor Refinery. These positions exposed Shalash to a wide range of contracting and project management knowledge and expertise. His career started as a project engineer for 600, 000 mᶟ waste water treatment plant in Egypt under the auspices of the Egyptian Water Authority.

Shalash holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Ain Shams University.

Kevin Severn

Director of Operations

Kevin Severn is LEEDS Facility Management Director of Operations. With over 30 years of experience in multinational companies, Severn operated and managed major multi-million-pound facility management contracts across the leisure, retail, commercial and public sectors, including well known venues and companies such as Headingly, Aintree, The DWP, The BBC, DVLA, Barclays, Aviva and Land Securities property portfolios. Severn’s extensive portfolio also includes delivering fully integrated FM services into 27 shopping centers for Land securities, Europe’s largest privately held property company.

Severn was a company Director at the age of 27 and has operated as a subject matter expert and private consultant bidding on national TFM contracts, as well as managed them through mobilization and transition to a steady state.

In recognition of Severn’s 20 years of experience in facility management industry, Severn was awarded the membership of the British Institute of Facilities Management (MBIFM). Severn was also granted the Fellowship of the Institute of Hospitality (FIH) by the UK government.

Ahmed Hussein

Business Development

Ahmed joined LEEDS in 2014 as the Business Development Engineer for the Energy sector, after spending one year at Drexel Oilfield and Equipment as a field engineer.

Ahmed holds an MSc. in Sustainable Energy Systems, University of London.

Ahmed holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the American University in Cairo.
